BAT CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Every Eoin Cricket Bats are handcrafted from best-in-class English willow sourced from the UK. However proper bat care is important for higher performance and durability of the bat.

KNOCKING IN: Every cricket bat has to be properly knocked-in for at least 4-5 hours using a bat mallet, or ball and sock. Force of knocking should only be increased progressively. Make sure your bat is properly knocked in before taking for a match or nets session. If you do not knock-in properly the cricket bat will have a high risk of breaking. Proper attention should be given to the sides and toe of the bat as they have a higher risk of breaking. Before taking for matches, its advised to knock-in using an old-ball throw downs. If the bat face dents/blemishes too easily, then further knocking-in is needed.

OILING: Apply a small quantity (1/2 tea spoon) of linseed oil on all parts of the cricket bat except the splice and kept aside for the oil to be absorbed for atleast 24 hours. Make sure bats are not be kept vertical after oiling. Oiling should be done at the start and finish of a season. Make sure you don’t over oil the bat.

STORAGE: Store in cool, dry place where a small amount of moisture can be absorbed from the atmosphere.
